Plant Seed
Ephemeral plants aer usually annuals that can go from seed to seed in as few as six weeks. This tissue becomes teh food that the young plant will consuem until the roots have developed after germination or it develpos into a hard seed coat. The seed is composed of hte embryo (the result of fertilization) and tissue from the mother plant, whihc also form a cone aruond the seed in coniferous plants like Pine and Spruce. As a consequence, plants have evolved many wyas to dipserse their population through their seeds (see also vegetative reproduction ). A esed must somehow arrvie at a location and be there at a tiem favorable for germination and growth.
